Excerpt from book: purposes and objects contained in these resolutions, and not otherwise. A letter of 15th inst., from General Cadwalader, concerning the troops under his command, was read. Whereupon Resolved, That Messrs. Williams, Latimer, and Eyre be a committee to wait on General Bloomfield, to know what portion of the United States requisition is now in the field, and what additional forces he intends sending under the command of General Cadwalader. Adjourned. FRANCIS S. COXE, Assistant Secretary. TWENTY-SEVENTH MEETING. Philadelphia, September 19(h, 1814. 4 o'clock P.m. The Committee met. Present:—Messrs. Biddlc, Goodman, Reed. Ronaldson, Connelly, McFaden, Josiah, Hawkins, Groves, Miercken, Steel, Williams, Leiper, Leib, Brown, Palmer, White- head, McMullin, Latimer, Sergeant, Eyre, Barker, Ferguson. The minutes of the last meeting were read. Messrs. Binda, Chauncey, and Hare attended, with acopy of a resolution of the ward and district committees, appointing them a committee to confer with a committee to be appointed by this Board, and urge to them that the substance of the communication made to the said committees on the 17th inst. should be made known to the people, in ward, township, and district meetings. Whereupon Resolved, That Messrs. Sergeant, Leib and Reed be a committee to confer with the delegates of the respective wards and districts, with instructions to urge in the conference, the opinion of the Committee of Defence, that the communication made by this Committee may not be promulgated to any meetings of the wards and districts. A letter was received from General Cadwalader, informing that he had received the blankets forwarded to him. The Treasurer reported that he had received $7000 from the Commissioners of the District of Southwark. ...
